Call for Applications

“UEH100 - Program for Attracting Top-Tier Faculty and Researchers” is a strategic initiative of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) designed to attract outstanding global scholars, experts, and researchers to join UEH as Affiliated Academic Members. The program offers a comprehensive framework to foster meaningful academic engagement and long-term collaboration with distinguished academics beyond the traditional tenure-track structure.

Under this program, Research Fellow positions are open to senior-level independent researchers with a proven track record of conducting independent research and strong expertise in their respective fields. Appointed on a part-time basis under a collaborative contract, the role focuses on advancing UEH’s research agenda through conducting research projects, producing international publications, and supporting the development of strong research groups, thereby strengthening the university’s overall research capacity and academic internationalization. Participation in selected teaching, academic exchange, and collaborative activities with relevant faculties or institutes is also expected where appropriate.

Eligibility / Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate recognized academic reputation with a personal H-index of at least 5 (according to the Scopus database).
  • Hold a PhD degree.
  • Have at least five ISI-indexed publications within the past five years.
  • Submit a proposed research collaboration plan with UEH for a period of 3–5 years.

Collaboration Scope / Expected Outputs

Research Fellows at UEH are expected to contribute through the following activities:

  • Publish scholarly outputs under the affiliation of UEH (in collaboration with UEH full-time faculty members) in international journals indexed in SSCI/SCIE (Web of Science) or Scopus Q1/Q2, with the publication topics aligned with disciplines currently offered by UEH.

In addition, each year, Research Fellows are expected to participate in at least one of the following activities at UEH:

  • Contribute to academic conferences or workshops organized by UEH as reviewers, session chairs, or discussants.
  • Serve on evaluation committees for research projects at different levels within UEH.
  • Deliver research methodology seminars organized by UEH faculties or institutes.
  • Participate in UEH’s strong research groups.
  • Collaborate on research projects led by UEH.
  • Supervise doctoral students upon nomination by UEH faculties or institutes.
  • Contribute to university ranking surveys on behalf of UEH when invited.
  • Engage in other research-related activities as requested by UEH.

Contract Duration: 3–5 years. At the end of the contract period, a performance evaluation will be conducted to determine whether the collaboration will be extended.
